Nutritional Medicine

When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need. - Ayurvedic Proverb

Naturopathic Nutritional Medicine employs natural, non-toxic means through diet, supplements and selected herbs, to empower an individual to overcome disease and illness and achieve the highest possible level of health. There is but one true healing force and that is Nature, demonstrated by the body’s incredible ability to heal itself. Hence the role of the nutritionist is to provide the optimum conditions needed to facilitate and enhance this process.

Nature is doing her best each moment to make us well. She exists for no other end. Do not resist. With the least inclination to be well, we should not be sick. - Henry David Thoreau

One of the underlying principles of nutritional medicine is that each person is unique and has unique nutritional requirements so that what might be an adequate and appropriate nutritional intake and diet for one person, may be inappropriate for another. Equally, the individual is viewed as a whole (composed of a complex set of physical, mental-emotional, spiritual, social and other factors). Bearing this in mind, the underlying causes of a disease is sought and addressed, rather than simply trying to suppress a set of symptoms. Nutritional medicine is an incredibly powerful and effective tool when treating a whole range of diseases and chronic illnesses.
